GlaxoSmithKline Face The Day iPhone App
I helped create a tracker app for monitoring and managing acne. Users could take daily pictures to create their own photo journal, track their treatment and set alerts and reminders to maintain good skincare habits. The app helps people monitor how acne makes them feel, how it impacts their daily life and opens a dialogue with their dermatologist.
The Challenge
We needed to understand the self-conscious nature of people suffering with acne and create a non-judgmental way to document the symptoms while tracking treatment. It all needed to encourage conversations and foster an exchange of information between patients and doctors for more accurate evaluations.
My Role
Concept Ideation: I developed wireframes, user flows and working prototypes to illustrate the overall experience of the app for client reviews.
Audience Insight: I worked closely with the client to identify business goals, patient needs and doctor expectations. I designed user personas based on GlaxoSmithKline’s research.
Experience Strategy: I designed the app to be a camera-based documentation tool for both patients and doctors to better assess skincare needs.
Leadership: I oversaw the team of junior designers and ran internal team meetings. I worked closely with the off-shore development team to implement designs.
